The Department of Ethnic Studies and Languages invites you to the Spring 2026 Ethnic Studies Lecture Series featuring Dr. Jeff Duncan-Andrade. Dr. Duncan-Andrade is a Professor of Latina/o Studies and Race and Resistance Studies at San Francisco State University and founder of the Roses in Concrete Community School in East Oakland. With nearly three decades as a classroom teacher and school leader, his work focuses on urban education, youth wellness, critical pedagogy, and the transformative power of Ethnic Studies. He is the 2019 Laureate of the Brock International Prize in Education.
